My left foot hurts. I found out a year ago that I have a bone cyst in my left foot.  What does this mean?! Just strain, or pathologic fracture? Because the ‘cure’ is intralesional curettage. Basically in the doctor’s words, “There’s basically a hole in the bone filled with fat. We’ll cut into the foot, dig out the cyst and bone graft it.” Which makes...

Best few days so far.
Working O-week with the coolest team, getting Staff IDs, training for SA with awesome people, and catching up with old friends. Danced up a storm at the Tav this evening with the SAs. And so tired and dizzy from the heat even though I didn’t drink a drop of alcohol.  I’m so tired, but I’ve been reallyyyy turning my body clock around. Getting up at 7.30am every day is getting to...

crappy monday
Doing laundry, dishes, making phone calls, and editing photos from a gig I did last year and basically getting very very grumpy.  My writing is not at its best, and I’m slightly annoyed at that. And worried that I pretty much banked my future salary on my ability to write, but clearly that ability has its off days as well. I’m incredibly fuzzy and slightly irritable. And of course,...

random typing. really.
Lunch out. Shenanigans at Leederville. Dinner at East Perth followed by a lot of nerdy conversation and my obtaining of the entire Song of Ice and Fire book set. Probably a bad time, seeing as I’m going to be working ALL WEEK and any late nights reading will definitely not pay off.  Photo-editing work tomorrow morning, followed by a lunch date and a heap of chores. And maybe a late afternoon...

short update.
Just got back from camp, and dinner. Table for three at Rockpool tonight. I’m seriously knackered from what seems like the longest week with hardly any sleep. My body is not adjusting well to this waking up at 7/8am every day thing. And it’s not going to get any easier either.  Work tomorrow, followed by a night out with some of my favorite people. Not crazy, I promise....

The Kindle was the best/worst invention ever. Amazon has a brilliant ‘1-click to buy’ function. One click, and the book is on my Kindle within seconds. No cash, no PayPal, no hint of money transferring hands. If I close my eyes and ignore my bank balance, I might even be able to think it’s all free. Amazon has also figured out that I love dystopians. It suggests new titles...

I’ve never really had to worry about exercise before.  I guess it never seemed like something I had to consciously do. I had about twelve hours of dance a week, and even during the years where I didn’t focus so intensely on it I had six. And that amount of exercise is enough to keep anyone fit.  But now it seems like I really do have to run, or go back to dance, or do SOMETHING. I...

How to Fall in Love Again in Four Minutes A Day →
shannonicole: “Love falls softly; it cannot be forced. I have tried.  That forcing just about undid us. Funny, how love, this thing muscular and the only eternal, this bridge between our souls, it sags sorely under pressure. Love can’t bear the weight of our expectations.” “When I say that you’re beautiful… You said you’d hear me.”

What’s an appropriate Valentine’s Day gift for your psychologist?  Carnations in a vase? A friend bought red carnations for his shop today as decor, and it looked so pretty. One of those herb/flower-in-a-cute-eggshell type thingies? A muffin? Food is kind of a hard one though… People can get picky. Any suggestions, anyone?

Been so busy… Catchups, parties, arty farty things, really yummy dinners… I REALLY need to start exercising, because I can see how much chubbier I’m getting around the tummy.  Visited a friend’s new house today and brought her a housewarming gift. or a bathroom-warming gift? I got her soaps, because she’s never tried Lush before but we both watch YouTube beauty videos...

Which one? Teal or navy? They are the exact same style, have identical gold hardware (despite them being a slightly different shade of gold in the pictures)… It’s just… teal or navy?

After a salad-making lesson from The Master himself…  Okay, I was at a friend’s place and watched someone make a salad. It was amazing. I took notes and everything, and I feel like it totally revolutionized my salads-as-an-entree-because-they-never-fill-me-up thoughts. A lot of beans were involved.  But today I made a spinach, soft-boiled egg, and avocado salad. With shallots and...

Why do I keep seeing clothes that I want? - Juicy Couture plaid shorts. 100% cotton! I cannot resist pure cotton and plaid print.   - Wildfox Couture baggy beach jumper. Too expensive for my budget, because the white one is on sale but the black is still full priced (OVER priced, actually!). And I never buy white because it gets dirty so quickly…    - Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac. Not sure...
